Adobe Stock Photos is Closing, and I’m OK with That

Adobe dropped a bit of a surprise on the design world with the announcement that it is shutting down its stock photo service. You know… Adobe Stock Photos? That stock photo service you didn’t use because you already have an iStockPhoto account? Yeah, that’s the one.

First, what that means for anyone who really is using Adobe Stock Photos: Finish all of your image searches and Comp downloads before March 3, 2008. You can still purchase images for the Comps you have already downloaded up through March 31, but you are pretty much out of luck after that unless you want to go through the hassle of using Adobe’s Image ID Converter to figure out which company the image really came from.

Holy Crap! I’m an Info Junkie, Too

After my revelation that I’m a tech junkie, it seems only appropriate that I proclaim my long-standing status as an information junkie, too. Yeah, if I’m not connected, I’m sure I must be missing out on something.

My Internet life means that I usually spend a crazy amount of time pouring through RSS feeds — a feat that used to be made far easier thanks to my first true RSS love: NewsMac Pro. Sadly, this true gem of the RSS world went away because it just couldn’t compete with NetNewsWire Pro.

Yeah, I’m a Tech Junkie

An informal survey of the stuff I use in my day-to-day life has led me to an interesting, yet wholly unsurprising, conclusion. I am a tech junkie. Really.

I sit in front of a MacBook Pro with a 23-inch Cinema Display all day, I always have the latest version of Mac OS X installed, my iPhone is always close at hand, and there is usually an iPod or two sitting on my desk.
